ABSTR&CT: This paper considers the stability of autonomous, nonlinear, multivariable systems which exhibit symmetric loop transmission about the nonlinear elements (Fig. ). This type of system results whenever two plants share a common facility, such as a power source; or the coordinates which decouple a multi-dimensional servomechanism differ from the instrumentation coordinates (1-3).
