✦ Synopsis

The paper presents a method of calculation for the transient electromagnetic field in a steel rotor screen of a superconducting generator. Using the difference method, the spatial-temporal distributions of the electromagnetic field have been calculated as a result of solving the non-linear partial differential equation for the vector potential A (in space Q(r,O,t)). For the difference diagram the conditions of stability and convergence have been determined.
