A shortout anatytw" method of stability m strong nonlinear autonomous system is introduced into stability analysis of the thermohaline double-d(/fustve O'stem. Using perturbation technique obtains conditions of" existence and stabtlit)' Jor linear and nonlh~ear periodic solutions. For {blear periodic solution m infinitesimal motion, the existence range of monotomic branch and oscillatoo' branch are outilined. The oscillatoo' branch of nonlinear perwdic solution infinite-amplitude motion has unstable periodic solution when ~L is smaller than crttzcal ,value p~ in thts case of O,~rs--rsc(<l.
The stability conclusions under different direction q/" vortex are drawn out.
