Summaff--The purpose of this paper is to establish equations which can be used to determine the local asymptotic stability of reluctance-synchronous machine over a wide frequency range of applied stator voltages• Small-displacement theory is used to organize the equations into the form such that a Liapunov function can be suitably chosen.
