✦ Synopsis

SrTi 1-x Zr x O 3 Low temperature Sintering properties a b s t r a c t Perovskite-type SrTi 1-x Zr x O 3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.55) particles with spherical shape are prepared via a controlled precipitation process at 60-80 • C using TiCl 4 , ZrOCl 2 •8H 2 O and SrCl 2 •6H 2 O as starting materials. Samples are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, and transmission electron microscopy. Sintering experiments at different temperatures (1300-1550 • C) reveal that the zirconium contents in the compounds have significant effects on their sintering properties, in which a Zr/Ti molar ratio of ca. 0.27/0.73 is best for achieving dense ceramic.

CoWO 4 nano-particles were successfully synthesized at a low temperature of 270 • C by a molten salt method, and effects of such processing parameters as holding time and salt quantity on the crystallization and development of CoWO 4 crystallites were initially studied. The products were characteriz
