✦ Synopsis
stomach with a potential danger of cancerous change, and exposes the patient to the increased risk of gastrojejunal ulceration. Also, even the shortest afferent loop of a gastrojejunostomy in an infant will in time grow considerably and may cause mechanical symptoms. In the present case gastric resection was considered the only practicable treatment, and his progress has been very satisfactory (Figs. 651, 653). In almost all of these cases the duodenum is unaffected and healthy, making a Billroth-I-type anastomosis possible.
SUMMARY
