True epidermoid cysts are uncommon and usually are asymptomatic.' The most serious complication of these cysts is rupture presenting as a surgical emergency. In recent years only a few reports have dealt with the use of noninvasive imaging in the diagnosis of these We report a case of rupture of such a cyst whose diagnosis was strongly suggested preoperatively by ultrasonography.
