✦ Synopsis

A 45-year-old woman underwent a resection for a hepatic metastasis of the liver caused by a carcinoma of the colon. Shortly after the Pringle maneuver severe hemorrhage from the upper left quadrant of the abdomen was observed. Exploration revealed a spontaneous parenchyreal laceration of the spleen.
