✦ Synopsis
Purpose: The role of ultrasound examination (US) of nonpalpable breast lesions detected in X-ray mammography (MG). ,Vethods: US of the breast was performed IO evaluate nonpalpable lesions seen in MG as nodular densities: microcalcificztions. stellate lesions. architecmral distortions or asymmetric densities before stereotactic (S?r4G) procedures. US were performed \ ith 7.1 MHz transducer of Kranzbuhler or Acuson machine. SMG procedures were performed with Lorad DSM system. Resulrst Since Oct. the I st: 1995 to Feb. the 15th. 1997 109 US were performed. In 10 cases tine needle aspirations (FNA) of solid lesions were done. An infiltrating carcinoma has been found in nvo cases. In 67 cases ultrasound diagnosis were esacrl-the same as ShlG examinations. 35 of them been found as benign lesions in pathological examination. 32 are still in follow-up (US or MG). In 28 cases diagnostic procedures are still performing. Conclusion: In our opinion US may be useful in evaluating nonpalpable lesions of the breast detected in 34G.
