✦ Synopsis

Spine1 Li , +,Mn,O, was prepared by the coprecipitation of LiOH and Mn(OH), in ethyl alcohol. The particle size is about 2 pm with a narrow distribution. Cyclic voltammetry experiments using the Li/ethylene carbonate + dimethoxyethane + LiClO,/Li, ,,rMn204 cells show good reversibility of lithium deintercalation and intercalation in the spine1 phase of Li , +*Mn,O,. The initial reversible capacities are about 120 mA h/g and 140 mA h/g for x = 0 and x = 0.2, respectively.
