✦ Synopsis


The purpose of this volume is to provide a clinical guide which will further knowledge of the advances in the diagnosis and management of spinal cord problems from both the neurological and neurosurgical viewpoint. The basic sciences such as spasticity and pain are discussed, while other chapters cover the effects on the autonomic nervous system, psychosocial and sexual problems and medico-legal aspects. HIV infection, tropical medicine and the effects on the cervical spine of disease and trauma receive particular attention.
Spinal Cord Disease provides both the neuroscientist and the clinician with a comprehensive review of the basic science, diagnosis and management of spinal cord problems with particular reference to the choice of investigative techniques, advances in the understanding of the underlying pathophysiology, treatment and rehabilitation.
