β¦ Synopsis
We review the key ingredients of our current theoretical formulation of spin-dependent transport in magnetic layered and granular solids. The meaning of effective spin-dependent internal electric fields is given, and the shortcomings of current approaches are signaled. The essential features of realistic model calculations of conduction in magnetically inhomogeneous systems are discussed.

The electron transport through a quantum-wire system in the presence of inhomogeneous magnetic fields is investigated theoretically. The system consists of two parallel quantum wires coupled by two ballistic windows, while the magnetic fields applied are uniform and equal in the two wires but vanish
A theory of the NMR signal dephasing due to the presence of tissue-specific magnetic field inhomogeneities is developed for a two-compartment model. Randomly distributed magnetized objects of finite size embedded in a given media are modeled by ellipsoids of revolution (prolate and oblate spheroids)
