✦ Synopsis
In order to investigate the nature of the 1-K transition of UCu 5, we performed Cu NMR experiments in the antiferromagnetic states below 15 K including below 1 K. The analysis of zero-field spectra clearly proved the spin reorientation at 1 K from the 4-q structure with cubic symmetry to the 1-q structure with trigonal symmetry, which are not distinguishable by neutron diffraction. Furthermore, we found a large jump of electric field gradient at 1 K, suggesting a considerable change of spacial distribution of U-5f wave function at 1 K. The correlation between the change in the electronic state and the magnetic structures is discussed.
