✦ Synopsis

Measurements of the spin-lattice relaxation time of the biphenyl anion radical in a rigid matrix of 2-methyl-tetrahydrofuran

indicate tnat the Van Vleck direct process is followed from 1.25oK to 3.5oK and a Raman process giving a T2 dependence dominates from 350K to 810K. A concentration dependence of Tl is observed and is interpreted in terms of radical ion pairs.

Spin-lattice relaxation time, T, of tan01 (protonated and deuterated), in crystal matrix of &hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine has been studied in the range IO-300 K. Continuous saturation technique was applied to inhomogeneous broadened ESR signals. For tanol-p a transition was observed at 133
