โฆ Synopsis
A calculation of the spin-lattice relaxation time, 2'1, in nematic liquid crystals which recognizes the presence of short range molecular reorientation as well as long range order fluctuations explains the temperature dependence of T1 measured in these systems. The frequency dependence. due to the long range fluctua- tions, is discussed.
