Abstract

We derive the spin current formula in superconductors on the basis of the mean‐field theory of superconductivity. The obtained formula is applied to mesoscopic p ‐wave superconducting rings. We discuss a possibility of the circulating spin current in p ‐wave superconducting rings at the zero magnetic field. The direction of spin current depends on topological numbers which characterize the spatial configuration of the spin vector of Cooper pairs. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
