✦ Synopsis
Conical antennas mounted on finite ground planes are analyzed using a spherical-coordinate finite-difference time-domain ( ) FDTD model. Key features of the model are discussed, with particular emphasis placed upon modeling of the source region. Results demonstrate how ground plane size can be used for impedance matching or to adjust the radiation pattern and gain.
