✦ Synopsis


Creep and creep recovery tests have been performed in bending on beams of hardened cement paste, under controlled conditions at 60% R.H. and 35°C, recording deformations from very short times (O.Is) to 7 days. Recoverable creep curves have been analyzed considering viscoelastic chain models involving either a continuous or a discrete distribution of retardation times. Irrecoverable creep curves result from the superposition of two linear creep behaviors, the one consistent with the ordinary constantrate flow component of creep, the other occuring in a definite time range, probably due to the test conditions. In the time range studied, basic creep may be represented by a chain model composed by 5 viscoelastic elements.
