✦ Synopsis
A quantum point contact with one-dimensional subbands described by two quantum numbers has been realized by laterally confining a quasi two-dimensional electron gas of a AlGaAs parabolic quantum well by split-gate electrodes. We measured quantized conductance reflecting the 1D subband structure in the constriction. By applying magnetic fields, the confinement changes and we observe crossings and anticrossings of magneto-electrical 1D subbands, depending on the orientation of the magnetic field.

In a recent paper a formalism was developed by the authors for accounting for the "response of multiple coupled dynamic systems". The dynamic systems were considered basic and one-dimensional; the impedances were assumed to be uniform over the spatial extents of the dynamic systems and the propagati
