A number of new absorption bands appear when single crystals of KMgFs containing about 1% Co2+are subjected to . radiation damage c60Co r-rays). Magnetic circular dichroism and thermal annealing data are presented to help confirm the assignment of several of these bands as exchange enhanced spin-forbidden d-d transitions.
