✦ Synopsis
Through the sol-gel process, a silicon-titanium inorganic-organic hybrid is synthesized and used as substrate to study the adsorption and spectroscopy of a europium luminescent complex: Eu(fod) 3 . The complex and silicon-titanium hybrid were mixed in stoichiometric amounts to produce samples with 1%, 5%, and 10% (m/m) of adsorbed complex, with the matrices being pressed at 380 mPa for 0.5, 30, and 60 min before spectroscopic analysis. It is verified that the intensity of the 5 D 0 → 7 F 2 emission band is dependent on the complex/nitrogen ratio and almost independent of the external pressure.
