โฆ Synopsis
Copper can be determined spectrophotometrically at 343, 370 and 545 nm, based on the reaction of copper(I1) and bis(acetylacetone)ethylenediimine after extraction of the chelate into chloroform. The calibration graphs were linear up to 20 pg ml-' copper at 343 nm, 80 pg ml-' copper at 370 nm and 200 pg ml-' copper at 545 nm. The relative standard deviation for the determination of 50 pg ml-l of copper (at 545 nm) was 1.4% (n=lO). The system has been applied to the determination of copper in copper-based alloys and pig feeds.
