ANNOUNCEMENT SPECTROCHIMICA ACTA SPECIAL GOLDEN JUBILEE SUPPLEMENT Future Trends in Spectroscopy To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first publication of Spectrochimica Acta, a symposium on "Future Trends in Spectroscopy" took place at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, Vatican City, in June 1989, attended by the Editors, and by representatives of the Publisher and the Editorial Advisory Boards. The rationale for this venue was that Spectrochimica Acta was founded by Fr A. GATTERER, the Vatican Astronomer, and indeed the journal itself was published from the Vatican immediately after World War II and before being acquired by Pergamon.
