High purity polycrystalline PbWO4 (PWO) has been synthesized by a chemical method. Pure and doped PWO crystals were grown by using a Czochralski technique. Transmittance spectra, light yield and decay constants of the crystal were measured. The effect of PWO crystal quality and doped ions on its sci
