The spectral characteristics of the photocurrents generated by X-rays in copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) in the region of the CuKct absorption are presented. It is shown that direct excitation of the copper atom in CuPc molecules by an X-ray photon leads to charge carrier generation. The spectral characteristics of the photocurrent seem to be inversely proportional in relation to absorption and influenced by strong bimolecular recombination of the charge carriers.
