Here we present the detailed analysis of the specific heat data of selected intermetallic compounds RNi 4 Al for R ¼ Ce; Pr; Nd, and Dy. To determine the magnetic entropy of these compounds, the zero-field specific heat data were measured in the temperature range 2-300 K. The data of magnetic RNi 4

✦ Synopsis
We present results of specific-heat measurements on several AnTX ðAn ¼ Np; Pu; T ¼ Co; Ni; Rh; Ir; X ¼ Al; GaÞ compounds with the hexagonal ZrNiAl-type structure. All the studied neptunium materials order antiferromagnetically with highest T N ¼ 42 K in NpIrAl. On contrary, the Pu-based isostructural materials do not show any phase transitions down to lowest achievable temperatures. The g coefficient of the electronic specific heat is moderately enhanced (g ' 1002200 mJK À2 mol À1 ).
