✦ Synopsis
The nature of the phosphorescence emission opttcally detected magnettc resonance (ODMR) transitions and triplet state hfetime data of naphthalene (N) solubilized in frozen mixed micelles contammg sodium dodecyl sulfate (NaDS) and either silver dodecyl sulfate (AgDS) or thallium dodecyl sulfate (TIDS) suggest stronger perturbatron of the N tnplet state by the Ag+ counterion than by Tl + , Very broad ODMR transitions and a broadening of the phosphorescence for NaDSiAgDS indrcate a strong specific interaction between the N probe and the Ag' counterion, absent with Tl+ .
