โฆ Synopsis
Resting and Nesting in Primates: Behavioral Ecology of Inactivity I am delighted that the American Journal of Primatology is able to publish this single-topic issue focusing on the behavioral ecology of inactivity in primates. The papers in this issue examine the potential evolutionary and proximate functions of nest use, the determinants of nest-site selection, and the interplay between social and ecological factors in shaping and constraining resting behavior. I thank Barbara Fruth and W.C. McGrew for serving as guest editors of this special topic issue. Each paper in this issue underwent the journal's demanding and rigorous peer review process and represents a new and significant contribution to the literature.
