✦ Synopsis

The articles presented in this issue of Macromolecular Materials & Engineering highlight the different types of research work carried out at the Institute of Polymer Engineering (''Institut fu ¨r Kunststofftechnik'', KTP) at the University of Paderborn. They constitute a selection of research topics taken from the various areas of scientific work engaged in by the Institute's staff, under the direction of Prof. Dr. H. Potente and Prof. Dr. A. Limper. A short portrait of the Institute itself is set out on the pages that follow. The subsequent articles cover the topics of mixing and compounding, extrusion, injection molding, joining technology and rheology.
