✦ Synopsis
By equipping a rotary vane pump with highly abrasion-resistant, pre cisely machined carbon-graphite vanes, Thomas Industries has created an oifiless air pump for an application that gives up to 20,000 hours of maintenanceflee operation. The pump uses a special grade of carbon-graphite that gives better abrasion resistance than other forms of the material can provide. And because the company machines the vanes to tolerances less than 0.001 inch, they match the shape of the pump housing precisely. Since this also decreases abrasion, it fiwtber increases the durability of the vanes, which contributes to long lif of the pump.
