✦ Synopsis

Spatial and temporal variations in cloudiness of the Australo-Indonesian region are examined with the help of a newly created cloudiness data set, based on GMS-IR imagery. As represented by the first Varimax rotated principal component pattern of the Australo-Indonesian region cloudiness, the band of tropical cloudiness is dominated by a clearly defined eastward cluster propagation, as well as a more complicated 4&50-day oscillation pattern. Details of these phenomena are discussed.

The rate of sedimentation in Lake Kinneret was measured over several years by means of sediment traps, in up to seven different locations in the lake. Gross sedimentation rates measured in the sediment traps vary from about 1Á5 kg m Γ€2 a Γ€1 in the deepest part of the lake up to 10 kg m Γ€2 a Γ€1 near

We obtained near-infrared spectra of Uranus at NASA's Infrared Telescope Facility during the planet's September 2006 and September 2007 oppositions. Ratios between the spectra indicate that in 2006, Uranus' methane windows appeared much brighter in the south than in the north, and that between 2006
