The vibration of ring-stiffened cylinders associated with arbitrary boundary conditions is investigated. Displacements of cylinders can be easily described by trigonometric functions when the cylinders are shear diaphragms supported at both ends. As to other boundary conditions, exponential function

In recent years, structural engineers have been gradually concerned with the analysis of cylindrical shells, which have non-circular profiles and are found to be in many engineering applications, such as aerospace, mechanical, nuclear, petrochemical, modern passenger airplanes, civil, and marine str
