SOUND SCATFERING FROM AN INHOMOGENEOUS TURBULENT WAKE

The solutions from previous investigations on the interaction of a plane, acoustic wave with a volume of homogeneous, isotropic turbulence, based on Lighthill's development, have been extended, under appropriate conditions, to scattering from inhomogeneous turbulence. In this note, a brief report is made of this extension and of an application of the results to sound scattering from the inhomogeneous, turbulent wake of a totally immersed, axisymmetric, self-propelled body.
