## Abstract The onset of buoyancy‐driven convection in an initially quiescent, horizontal nanoparticles suspension layer heated from above is analyzed theoretically. In this thermally‐stable stratified fluid layer, the Soret diffusion can induce buoyancy‐driven motion for the case of the negative s
