✦ Synopsis

With the increasing use of higher frequency transducers in diagnostic ultrasonography , improved resolution for small structures can be expected. We have recently encountered two patients in whom fetal vernix was detected floating in the amniotic fluid. The potential for this finding as an additional parameter in determining fetal maturity is discussed.
