We report the sonographic, CT, and clinical findings in a patient presenting with clinical sepsis and multiple Staphylococcus aureus hepatic microabscesses. Although contrast-enhanced CT has had a higher sensitivity than sonography in detecting hepatic microabscesses in some studies, this examinatio

β¦ Synopsis
A 28-year-old man with a ruptured right Achilles tendon underwent primary end-to-end suture immediately after injury. Painful swelling developed 6 months later, and a lump with discharge from a sinus was observed during physical assessment. Sonographic examination with a 10-MHz linear-array transducer demonstrated a hypoechoic mass, 8 Γ 6 mm, within which were 2 markedly echogenic dots. A stitch abscess was strongly suspected and was confirmed surgically.

We present a case of a lipomeningocele in a newborn. Prenatal sonography revealed dysraphia and a 3.8 Γ 4.3 cm, semisolid, echogenic mass that was continuous with the sacral area and bulged posteriorly under the skin. The mass was diagnosed after birth as a lipomeningocele based on the results of MR
