✦ Synopsis
Duhem equation at isobaric conditions, is derived in order to replace the derivative equivalent terms of easy calculation. The E term is then evaluated for some mixtures with strong departures from ideality to obtain an order of magnitude and trend of E vs. composition: the correction, depending on e, of activity coefficients according to R.K. or v.L. empirical correlations is either slight or wrong in sign. Also CHAO'S procedure is shown to overshadow the original meaning of E.
