✦ Synopsis

Arthur Otis Granger was born at Providence, February 14th, 1846, and died at his home in Cartersville, Georgia, on July 3oth, 1914. He was the son of the Rev. Arthur Granger and Sarah Alcorn Rowan Granger. He was educated in the public schools of Philadelphia, and began his business career in a dry goods store in that city in 1858. In 1876, he organized the firm of A. O. Granger and Company, Engineers and Contractors, Philadelphia, Pa., and four years later he became President of the Granger Water Gas Company, also of Philadelphia. In his later years he was connected with numerous industrial enterprises. He was elected to membership of the Institute in 1877.
