Abstract

A new experimental technique, greatly increasing the yield of the Perkin‐reaction on benzaldehyde and succinic acid is described. The results of the new method with salicylaldehyde, p‐methoxybenzaldehyde and o‐methoxybenzaldehyde are reported.
