EIGHT FIGURES Agama stellio is found in large numbers in the rocky parts of Egypt. A big collection of this lizard has been made from 2 different and widely separated localities. The first locality is Bourg El-Arab, a small village lying on the borders of the Western Desert, near the Mediterranian shore between Alexandria and Marsa Matruh. The second locality, where ilgama stellio is very common, is the rocky district at the M. R. EL-TOUBT I n the cranial roof of most of the skulls examined a small fontanelle is found between the nasals and frontal. This Eontanclle is present in many other species of the family Agamidae a s described by Siebenrock (1895). But, in Uromastyx aegyptia the gap between the nasals and frontal is ABBREVIATIOKS
