✦ Synopsis

Some results concerning decompositions of Kn, K,, -F (where F denotes a I-factor) and complements of a family of special cubic graphs into 2factors of the same type are given. In particular, if 2d is a divisor of n, it is shown that K, -F can be decomposed into 2-factors each of whose components is a cycle of length 2d.

## Abstract Let __n__ > 1 be an integer and let __a__~2~,__a__~3~,…,__a__~__n__~ be nonnegative integers such that $\sum\_{i=2}^{n} a\_i=2^{n-1} - 1$. Then $K\_{2^n}$ can be factored into $a\_2 C\_{2^2}$‐factors, $a\_3 C\_{2^3}$‐factors,…,$a\_n C\_{2^n}$‐factors, plus a 1‐factor. © 2002 Wiley Perio

It is shown that if F 1 , F 2 , ...,F t are bipartite 2-regular graphs of order n and 1 , 2 , . . . , t are positive integers such that 1 + 2 +• • •+ t = (n-2) / 2, 1 ≥ 3 is odd, and i is even for i = 2, 3, . . . , t, then there exists a 2-factorization of K n -I in which there are exactly i 2-facto
