✦ Synopsis

A comparison of completed suicides who had a history of previous attempts at suicide (parasuicide) with those who had no such history revealed that cpmpleted suicides with a history of parasuicide had a chronic history of psychiatnc disturbance. However, both groups of completed suicides had similar degrees of suicidal intent as assessed by an objective measure of suicidal intent based upon the circumstances of the suicidal act.
