✦ Synopsis

The basic objective of this paper is to present some measurements of the mean and fluctuating temperatures at the axis of a turbulent, vertical, round, water plume issuing into non-stratified, non-moving ambient water. The measurements are compared with an integral and a differential mathematical model. The comparison is satisfactory. The fluctuating temperature measurements agree well with those made by other research workers but differences occur in the mean temperature measurements.
