This paper presents some necessary and sut~eient conditions for the existence of a partially balanced array of Type 1 (PBl-array) of strength (tl, t2) , (ml, m2) constraints (with m~ + m 2 ~< t~ + t 2 + 2) and 2 symbols. Some existence conditions for a PB2-array of strength t, (ml, m2) constraints (with ml + m2 <~ t + 2) and 2 symbols are also described.
