✦ Synopsis
MSF technology still can be considerably improved in terms of plant life, reliability, and cost of the water produced. Only some of the most significant points which determine choice of design and concern operation and monitoring have been examined. It clearly appears that there is still some possibility for technological improvement which could be adequately estimated by means of simulation processes and adopted in the next generation of plants. We also believe that a much closer cooperation between plant constructors and operators, and an ever more widely spread sensitivity to all the problems, down to even the smallest details, are the basic conditions for a quicker achievement of the above objectives.
