✦ Synopsis
That part of the resonance interaction between two neutral asymmetric molecules with MenticaIenergy leveLsis considered which involves electric dipole transitions on otie molecute and either magnetic diole or ekctricquadrupole transitions on the other. The fields coupling the molecules are shown to be identical with their class@ munterparts. This property is used to transform a httia: sum of eiectric dipole,-magnetic dipole interactions into a sum over reciprocal space and the singular part of this sum is identified.
