Cytological investigations in forty-five species of Indian moths belonging to ten families (Tinaeidae, Limacodidae, Thyrididae, Pyralididae, Lasiocampidae, Saturnidae, Sphingidae, Noctuidae, Lymantriidae, Hypsidae) of Lepidoptera revealed haploid chromosome numbers varying from 12 to 31, the latter
