Abstract
The solvaton model, incorporating INDO parameters and commonly encountered perturbation procedures, is employed to obtain the variation of ^1^J(N≡C) as a function of the dielectric of the medium (ϵ) for some cyanides and isocyanides. In all cases considered ^1^J(N≡C) is predicted to become increasingly negative as ϵ increases. Changes of up to 2 Hz in ^1^J(N≡C) are expected, with the isocyanides being more sensitive than the cyanides to a change in ϵ.

The solvent shifts of the spin-spin coupling constants of acetylene were calculated using the polarizable continuum model (PCM) for solvents ranging in polarity from cyclohexane to water, using both density functional theory (DFT) and the complete active space self-consistent field (CASSCF) method.
## Abstract Sum‐over‐states perturbation and self‐consistent perturbation calculations of ^__n__^__J__(CC) using standard INDO parameters are discussed. Calculated values of ^1^__J__(OC) for acetone are reported. In general it seems that the sum‐over‐states calculations are the more reliable. The i
The relativistic zeroth-order regular approximation (ZORA) DFT method was employed to investigate indirect spin-spin coupling tensors involving fluorine, (1)J(X, F). The relative contributions of the mechanisms contributing to (1)J(X, F) are discussed, with special attention paid to the magnitude an
