β¦ Synopsis
T h e neurotoxicity, antielectroshock, anti-Metrazol, and antistrychnine activities of another series of urazole compounds have been determined in mice. Depending upon the nature of the substituted nitrogen groups, the members of this series, as with the previous compounds, were found to possess antielectroshock, anti-Metrazol, antistrychnine, convulsant, and depressant type actions. In general, the urazole compounds are most effective against maximal Metrazol seizures. HE SIMILARITY of the urazole and hydantoin Tnucleus prompted a n investigation of the C. N. S. activity of a series of substituted urazoles. One group of these derivatives has been reported previously (1). The compounds were relatively short acting and nontoxic. In general, they were found t o be most effective against maximal Metrazol seizures. Variations in the substituted nitrogen groups yielded compounds possessing anticonvulsant, convulsant, and depressant type actions. This report concerns the C. N. S. activity of another series of urazole derivatives and some observations concerning the structure-activity relationship of the C. N. S. actions of the entire series.

The present work examines the effects of hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Psidium guajava leaves (20,100,500 and 1250 mg/kg) on the central nervous system in mice. The three extracts exhibited mostly dose-dependent antinociceptive effects in chemical and thermal tests of analgesia. The
In order to study the influence of the length of the amino acid chain of N,N-phthaloyl-amino acid amides as analogues of the former anticonvulsant taltrimide on the seizure-antagonizing activity glycine, beta-alanine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) derivatives were synthesized. The corresponding
## Abstract Some effects of undernutrition were noted in the brains of 21βdayβold rat pups undernourished from birth by being reared by nursing dams fed on a low protein diet. As compared to the normally fed control pups, the body weight, brain weight, and thickness of the parietal neocortex and pa
We investigated the effects of ATP (adenosine 5Π-triphosphate) and derivatives on leech neuropile glial cells, focusing on exposed glial cells. ATP dosedependently depolarized or hyperpolarized neuropile glial cells in situ as well as exposed neuropile glial cells. These potential shifts varied amon
