✦ Synopsis

The substitution reaction between aquopentacyanoferrate(I1) and tetraamminepirazynecarboxylatocobalt(II1) to form a binuclear species is studied in various binary aqueous mixtures at different temperatures. Values of activation parameters seem to indicate no change in the mechanism of the reaction in the different mixtures. Medium effects have been rationalized by using a multiparameter regression of solvent parameters. Results show that the reaction follows a dissociative mechanism.
